Remy's Rad Road Trip 2022 pt. 10

Thursday morning we had to relocate our trailer to a new spot closer to SLO. The Pismo Beach RV park was all booked up for the weekend due to the retro trailer rally. Luckily some of them showed up early so we got to take a look at a few.  Neato!
Our new site was at a Hipcamp (aka a private residence), but it was closer to Chris and Linnea's so we headed there to take advantage of their wifi. Remy decided he would rather hit the pool with Elisabet than watch Dad finish working. With Chris in the upstairs office, and Remy and Elisabet crafting upstairs post pool time, Dad set up shop in the garage. A washing machine makes a surprisingly good standing desk. We are getting quite good at working in non traditional offices.

For dinner we headed to downtown SLO for the evening farmer's market. We speculated that the market is in the evening so that they don't have to block the streets during the day. Parking for the event was a little strange. All of the parking near the market was taken, but we could see that it was pay by card or phone like most parking spaces in the developed world. We soon found parking that looked promising but all of the open spots were coins only. As we cruised around the outskirts of the market we found lots more open spots, but all of them were also coin operated. It looked like all of the residents of SLO had abandoned coins but the city hadn't quite figured that out yet. Eventually Linnea let us know about a super secret parking garage (it wasn't secret, we were just bad at finding it).

The market had a lot of fresh fruit, and even more food vendors. We walked the market to pick out what looked most appetizing. The children got giant pretzels, Chris had teriyaki. Linnea got a Gorilla Quesadilla (it was gorilla in name only), Dad got some tamales, and Mom had a burger and tater tots. We took our food to a bar/coffee shop that had nice outdoor seating. Dad tried some espresso despite the late hour and it turned out to be excellent. Kudos to Mom for picking a good spot to sit.

After our meal we walked a bit more and watched some of the performers. There was a ribbon dancer, several musicians, and a dance troupe. We capped off the night with ice cream and churros! Huzzah!
