Remy Reside en Baja pt. 2

No early mornings for this family in Baja. With no dogs, no work, and nothing on the schedule we took our time getting up. We had no breakfast plans, but couldn't say no to a second round of Docecuarenta. Once everyone was dressed and ready we packed into the car and drove across town.

Breakfast was great, coffee was great, and Remy was able to finish building his Lego crane that he had started at dinner the previous night. After breakfast we headed back to the air BNB for some extended lounging on the rooftop, followed by more lounging on the patio, and ending with a bit of lounging in the pool.
We were undisturbed for most of the day, although we did bump into this rather large fella.

He was about three and a half inches across but pleasant enough. We watched him skitter around on the patio ceiling for a while before heading back inside.

Dad was able to snag a photo of the hummingbird nest while mama Bird was off getting a snack. It looks like there are two little eggs in there. We are still working on identifying what type of hummingbird it is. The current theory is a broad billed hummingbird.
For dinner we made the long drive (relatively) to the Green Room. For those unfamiliar the Green Room is a beach side restaurant that is actually on the beach. All of the tables are sitting in the sand of the dunes. To get there you have to drive through town and then head on a dirt road for several miles. The beach where the restaurant is located is home to a very famous surf spot that almost always has at least half a dozen surfers paddling in the waves.

We had a very long dinner, about three hours, while we sampled many different small plates, including a few dishes that hadn't been on the menu during our last time through. Remy was a big fan of the "tapas stacks" which featured fried potatoes topped with steak. He devoured a good portion of the steak while Dad was left picking at the potatoes scraps. Luckily those were delicious as well. We ended the night talking to a four year old girl from Mendocino and having one of our toy trucks stolen by another young child. Luckily he was kind enough to give it back before we left. Crisis averted.
