Baja Boys 1

We got a very, very early start on this trip, with Mom and Dad waking up at 4am and Remy waking up not soon after. The drive to airport, including the ferry, was smooth and uneventful. We parked at the Seattle Skybridge Hotel, left our car, and were able to walk a few blocks to th airport. Not having to take a shuttle was a major selling point, especially when returning and having to worry about late night ferries that only run on the hour.

Checking in was a breeze and we made it to the terminal with a few hours to spare. It turned out that our friends the Zimmermans were also at the airport, so we met up for a quick hello right before boarding.

On the plane Remy played some boardgames that we had printed, read some books, played trivia on the in-flight entertainment, and ate a whole bunch of the Whidbey bagels we had brought.

Once we landed it was off to claim our rental car. They informed us that they didn't have the SUV we requested available, but that they could give us a sedan and then drive out to meet us and swap the car. That didn't seem too terrible so we agreed and waited while they prepped the sedan. Right when they pulled it up they informed us that the SUV was ready but they they needed 10 minutes to clean it. Those 10imited were more like 30, but the SUV rolled out right as everyone was starting to get antsy and we hit the road.

We arrived at the hotel 45 minutes ahead of our friends Clint, Kat, and Harvey, so we headed down to the beach for a quick walk. It was just as nice as we had remembered. Our accomodations are a series of casitas overlooking the water. They stay nice and comfortable during the day despite the direct sunlight, and Remy really enjoys the small desert garden on the roof. There is also a nice patio for the boys to run around on.

For dinner we popped into town and had a very yummy first night meal at Mojibo. We had eaten there before but they had moved locations and changed their menu a bit. During our previous visit the food had been a bit more ecleptic, but this time things were a little more traditional. Remy was back to his traditional Mexican dinner of steak, which he inhaled.
