Baja Boys 3

Remy was up early again so we packed our things for a beach day and headed into town to grab breakfast at Jazzamango cafe.  Docecuarenta is our favorite coffee spot, But Jazzamango is our favorite place to get breakfast. They have a delicious variety of egg dishes, and also make some outstanding pancakes (devoured by Remy), brioche french toast (devoured by Harvey), and burritos. Remy has noted that in Mexico, he had "no problem eating a lot."

After breakfast we loaded into the cars and headed a few miles south to Cerritos Beach. Despite the short trip, the beach at Cerritos is completely different than the beach in Todos Santos. While Todos Santos waves are enormous, the Cerritos waves are (usually) calmer and much safer to navigate. Due to this Cerritos is a popular surf spot. There was some debate about taking surf lessons, but the waves today were very high so it was decided that we would pass this time. The swells were small enough that we were able to get some quality time playing in the waves.

The sand at Cerritos is also wonderfully sticky, so the boys set about building every possible sand structure. First we built several castles, including walls and early warning towers out near the surf. These didn't work very well as our first round of constructions was promptly wiped out by the waves. We persevered though and thanks to bigger walls, deeper moats, and the tide going out, we were able to construct some lasting buildings.

After buildings we moved on to more practical sculptures. Clint constructed several chairs, and also a set of stairs to make climbing the small sand cliff easier. Dad worked on a tunnel large enough for a human to crawl through, but none of the smaller humans were interested. These kids are too smart. After spending all morning in the sun furiously mixing, excavating, and  constructing, we were all a little tired. Some of us more than others.

We had a quick lunch at the Taco bar on the beach, and then cruised back to the hotel to rest and attempt to remove all of the sand from our bodies. We were not entirely successful.

For our last dinner in Todos Santos we drove the 25 minutes along the beach to the Green Room. As previously described, the Green Room offers and up scale dining experience on the beach, with all the tables and chairs sitting in the sand. We had a wonderful dinner as the sun set, with plenty of fresh fish and deliciously cooked meats.
