Please ignore the dates on the next couple of blogs, they aren't really accurate as our Internet is really spotty and its hit or miss as to whether I can publish something or not. Maria and I both had pink eye last week. I got it first, coming home from work one day with all sorts of goo in my eye. It got worse throughout the night, peaked in the morning and then was pretty much gone the next day. The redness that one so often associates with pink eye wasn't present so I dropped that off my list of possible causes. I had allergies when I was younger with pretty much the same symptoms so I figured that it had something to do with that. The next night though I had the same problem. It was odd because as long as I was up and moving there was no goo production. As soon as I went to sleep though my eyes kicked it into overdrive, with goo squirting out right and left. This went on for a few days and then cleared up. A few days later though, Maria went to the bathroom only to find out that her eye was now producing large amounts of goo. Bummer. We hadn't made too much of an effort to contain my pink eye because we weren't quite sure what it was. Sharing pillows probably hadn't been a good idea. For some reason her pink eye was also much worse than mine. Her eyes were leaking goo much more often, and they were incredibly red and swollen. She indeed looked like a pink eyed monster. I suggested that we film a horror movie because we wouldn't have to buy makeup. Luckily the whole thing only last three days, and both of us are cleared eyed once again. I also briefly suspected I had a tapeworm because I've been incredibly hungry for the past coupe of days, but as it turns out tapeworms cause one to lose their appetite. Darn, that would have made a sweet souvenir.
