Remy normally sleeps in, and Harvey is usually up early, but the flight and long day of travel caused them to do a bit of a switcheroo. Remy was up early and Harvey slept in. Weird. Once everyone was up we went to Docecuarenta for breakfast and coffee.
Docecuarenta is our favorite coffee shop in Baja, and we always try to stop in at least once when we pass through. Remy and Harvey had pastries while the adults stuck to large injections of caffeine (and also Chilaquiles).
With everyone properly fueled we headed back to our hotel, retrieved our beach things, and walked down to the playa. Mom went for a long run while Kat and the boys worked on several sand structures. The waves in Todos Santos are too big for playing in the water, so we stuck to digging holes and building castles. We got a short walk in before meeting up with Mom and heading back to the hotel.
The hotel has a small pool and hot tub that luckily has no waves, so we were able to squeeze in some swimming. Remy and Harvey took the opportunity to open a swim up bar serving wonderful flower-water drinks. They were a bit on the chlorinated side.
After getting our fill of water activities we stopped off in town on our way to dinner so that all the kids could get paletas (Popsicles).
Dinner on our first full day was scheduled at 5 Tacos and a Beer, right behind the apartment that Mom, Dad, and Remy had lived in during their overwinter in the Todos Santos. We had hoped to find our old friend
Tigre, and we were not disappointed. He even accompanied us on our favorite walk to the beach.
