Mulege is an up and coming town in Baja that has experienced a lot of growth lately. The old town is on top of a hill and has quite possibly the most confusing series of streets that I've ever seen. Google maps doesn't even want to give you directions, it just gives you a general location and says "good luck." You can bypass Mulege proper on the highway and continue along the highway to new Mulege. I don't know if it is actually newer but it is where all the expats live, so I'm guessing it came about more recently.
We are staying right near the river in new Mulege. Our house is an oddity as well, with a large upstairs bedroom (featuring three beds), two downstairs bedrooms, and a kitchen/dining room. All of the rooms are accessed via an outdoor hallway. I'm not sure if this was the original layout or if it was modified, but it has a bit of a dormitory feel.
When we arrived we went for a quick walk along the river.
Afterwards we headed to town to check out the somewhat recently opened Mulege Brewing Company. We had a tasting flight, pizza, chicken fingers, and a hamburger. Our American bar food craving has been sated for several months. Everything was good and Remy really enjoyed the bun from the hamburger. Here are two cool dudes. Dad went for the sippy cup and Remy decided on the sampler.
