Bookin' down to Baja 30 - We're still eating!

We were feeling adventurous this week so we tried a few new restaurants. First we went to Mejibo, a restaurant on the main street of downtown that specializes in fish and vegetarian cuisine. We tried a variety of tapas style plates, including some delicious pineapple carpaccio. Remy ordered his standard butter noodles. These happened to come with extra butter. You can really see the sheen in the picture below.

We also went to a taco restaurant behind our house. No, not that taco restaurant. Directly behind our house is 5 Tacos and a Beer, which has been one of our favorite spots during this trip. About half a block away from 5 Tacos is a new taco shop, Las Tunas Tacos. We went in with no expectations and were very pleased with our meal. We were additionally impressed with how different two taco restaurants can be.

5 Tacos serves what we think most people consider street tacos. Very small tortillas with minimal toppings (although they certainly don't skimp). The Tacos at Las Tunas are larger and a little more substantial. Last Tunas also serves fish tacos, which 5 Tacos does not. All the taco options are really enough to make one's head spin.

We also went back to Same Same but Different for breakfast. Remy was fully prepared for an intense waffle session.

After all that eating we decided that a long walk on Cerritos would be best. our usual beach approach here is to park as close as possible to the beach, walk minimally, and set up our tent. Going for a long walk was something a little bit different for us.
After a strenuous walk like that there's only one thing a body needs. More waffles.
Remy made some new friends on the beach. The boys were very fond of his collection of beach toys.
There doesn't appear to be any waffles in this hole.
Lots of running on the beach today.

For lunch we stayed at Cerritos and went to check out the Barracuda cantina. They are famous for their cocktails, so we got cocktails. They utilize a lot of local fruits, spices, and flavors in their drinks, and the two we tried were very good. We might have stuck around for a few more if we didn't have our waffle-filled baggage and our furry baggage.
