We began our day/night of partying with a trip to town for breakfast and then some exploring. Remy was once again in tour guide mode and was eager to show off all the exciting spots, including the Christmas display. All of the best minds were at work trying to decipher what might be in these shiny presents.
We debated a few different options for dinner, but eventually decided on Hierbabuena. They make great cocktails, have a good wine selection, and also provide excellent ambiance with the restaurant nestled in the farm/garden. As is traditional, we got a round of drinks, assembled some Lego dinosaurs, and Mom ordered one of everything on the menu.
After dinner we were feeling particularly rambunctious so we grabbed a bottle of sparkling rose from the grocery store and broke out the cribbage board for an evening of bubbly and skunks (for those reading that don't know, that is a cribbage term. Lucas and Alec don't smell that bad). Can you say "party animals?" One interesting complication to our game was that the couch cushions on the porch had been absolutely soaked during the monsoon that passed through earlier in the day.
We stacked towels as high as we could but our butts were still very wet by the end of the game. For those keeping track at home Dad won both games of cribbage. What a way to ring in the new year!
