Remy's Rad Road Trip 2022 pt. 9

Remy has been gearing up this whole trip for mini golf and Pismo Beach RV Club was ready to appease him. Mom had early morning meetings so Dad, Remy, and Emma took a stroll through town. When we got back Dad and Remy headed to the mini golf course. Course might be a bit of an overstatement.  I'd probably call it a mini golf area, or maybe corner. There are nine holes, eight of them with obstacles. One of the holes is missing the grass. It definitely has character, but that character has been neglected for a while and needs a fresh coat of paint. Luckily it was only $3 for both of us to play and Remy has zero expectations. The absolute best part was that we were the only morning golfers. Perhaps the twilight package that includes a cart is more popular? Remy wasn't interested in playing in order, and he certainly wasn't interested in any normal kind of putting stroke. His style was much more of a wild hockey shot/home run swing. Dad almost lost an eye the first time and kept a wide berth for the rest of the match.

After golf, which Remy stated was awesome, Dad went to work. Remy, Mom, Elisabet, and Linnea headed to a farm to meet some animals and enjoy the sunshine.

Post morning/afternoon activities, Chris and Linnea were kind enough to invite us over to their place for dinner. Linnea cooked up an excellent orzo and meatball dish. Remy and Elisabet invented a game where they threw balloons down the stairs and Dad went to get them. How clever.

The next day was more activities with Elisabet. This time the two pals went to the monarch butterfly viewing spot just down the road from our RV spot. There is a small grove a few yards back from the road that is absolutely covered in butterflies. If you were walking by quickly you wouldn't even see them, as they look just like leaves when they are resting. A loser look, or a peek through the provided scopes, reveals that there are thousands of butterflies clinging to each tree. The butterflies are on their way south so we were very fortunate to catch them while they are here.
We had planned to do a beach bbq for dinner but the weather was not cooperating so we headed back to Casa de Elisabet for brats and grilled corn.
