We had a quick breakfast at our campsite and got back on the road. Today was going to be mostly driving, followed by more driving, with a few stops for driving.
The weather was pleasant, although we did hit a few patches of rain. We've been checking the weather report constantly and it seems to change by the minute. One update says rain all week, the next says scattered showers, then we're in for some sun before it cycles back to rain. Who knows.
The truck performed admirably. Uphill was no problem and holding speed or even passing semis was not a problem. The new truck also has some additional towing features like higher shifting thresholds that help to keep speeds in check when going down hill.
We made a quick stop in Sicamous, which is where we went houseboating a handful of years ago with the Borisovs, and Dad regaled Remy with tales of his days as a boat captain. The story was understandably short.
The last 3 hours of the drive were gorgeous, with walls of immense rock on either side of the highway. For readers who have been to Yosemite, the formations here are reminiscent of el cap, with very sheer grey faces of rock lacking the conical or triangular shape of a mountain.
When we finally arrived it took us about thirty minutes to get the trailer set up due to the pull through area being a bit narrow and not very level. Luckily we got everything in place with about an inch to spare on one side.
Our clock had moved forward an hour during the drive so it was now quite late. We cooked a fast dinner and headed to bed.
