Roadtrip Remy Rides Again pt.2

Dad got up early with the doggos and headed out into the wide open country for a morning walk. It was pleasantly warm early in the AM, and the overcast sky was doing some interesting things with the sunrise. We may or may not have witnessed some minor miracles.

After the walk we hung out in the campsite while sleepyhead McSleepybuns snoozed all morning (we also gained an hour during our drive the previous day). When Remy finally woke up around 9am we hopped into the truck and headed into Missoula for our first donut excursion of the trip.

Today's stop was Veera donuts, a plant based bakery (we were unaware of this)  with some absolutely fantabulous looking donuts. First things first though, we grabbed coffee from Clyde Coffee just around the block. When we walked into the donut shop Remy was literally about to explode with excitement. He wanted "that one, no, that one, wait, that one!" and probably had picked out each donut at least once before deciding on a chocolate cake donut with vanilla frosting and sprinkles. Dad got a peanut butter fluffer nutter and Mom got two (!!!!) Donuts, a savory everything bagel themed donut, and a pistachio creme. The coffee was great, the donuts were wonderful, and we were soon pleasantly stuffed.
Or next course of action was a walk to bring our blood sugar levels down to a respectable level. We strolled along the river, up and over a bridge, and then found ourselves right smack dab in front of the town carousel. Dad and Remy went for a spin while Mom stayed outside with the dogs. This was Remy's first trip on a carousel and despite being a bit intimidated he did an outstanding job. He also made friends with the two little girls standing in front of us in line. They were more than willing to tell us every detail of their lives, and we are now familiar with the process of removing children's teeth when they have extra teeth up in their gums. Fascinating.
After the carousel we walked a bit more and then headed back to the car. We made a quick stop at the store for some water and snacks, and then drove just outside of town to Mount Sentinel for a hike. Everyone was a little tired by this point so we took our time climbing the rather steep trail. At the top of the hill we got an excellent view of the town and then headed back down. Remy regaled us with a story for basically the entire hike, although it had so many twists and turns that Dad couldnt recount it if he tried.

Post hike we stopped for a slice of pizza and a beer at a brewery, and then returned to the trailer for a very early bedtime for everyone.
