Road Trip Remy Rides Again pt. 27

Morning fog! We are back near the water! The air is moist again and oh so full of oxygen.
After a nice trailer breakfast (personal dutch babies for everyone), we drove into town to grab a cup of coffee at Scout Coffee Company. Dad enjoyed it, but a good cup of coffee is best enjoyed at a leisurely pace and we were in a bit of a hurry.

We continued North for a day in Morro Bay.  Our first stop was the Elfin Forest just south of the bay for a quick walk. We saw on very suspect looking elf.
Next we went to the very famous High Street Deli (on 2nd street) for delicious sandwiches. They are really very good. Almost worth the drive from Seattle. We also had a side of the best onion rings ever. Chris, Linnea, and Elisabet met us at the restaurant. Elisabeth was very excited to see Remy, and he was very excited to see her. Many hugs were exchanged.
With full bellies we went to Morro Rock for the afternoon. We walked on the beach a bit, stopping to watch the high school surf team, before plopping down in a clear spot to build sand castles and lounge. The dogs got to run a ton (they made a few friends) and we built several iterations of sand castle that were all promptly smashed by the kids. No respect for sand art from that generation. The adults also rotated turns playing tag for most of the afternoon. It is unclear who got most worn out at the beach, the dogs, the kids, or the the grownups chasing both.

We headed into town for a drink by the marina, a really wonderful spot to sit and sip, and then had fish and chips from the local fish and chips shack.
