Road Trip Remy Rides Again pt. 23

We arrived in Durango around 4pm after an uneventful drive. We tried to go for a walk but there weren't really any options with the RV park surrounded by giant rocks and the other side of the highway being private property. For dinner we went to James Ranch, a restorative farm just up the road. We learned about their effort to maintain bio diversity with their farming practices and had a delicious meal. Remy ate before we left which is why he is having ice cream while Mom and Dad have dinner.
Our fist full day in Durango started with a trip to the two acre fenced-in dog park at our campground. It is definitely the largest dog park we've seen on this trip. In fact, every dog park weve been to could easily fit inside this one. We met another puppy that looked absurdly like Roz. Everyone who saw the two of them assumed they were siblings.
After a quick breakfast for Remy we drove into town for coffee at Taste. They don't get any points for originality in their name, but the coffee was quite good. We took our time as the dogs were pooped from their dog Park adventure and we weren't in a rush.

Now fully caffeinated, we parked the truck and struck out on the Durango Animas River Trail. The trail runs through town along the river and covers more than seven miles. We walked for over three hours and everyone was tuckered out by the end. The dogs were now double pooped and immediately went to sleep when we got back to the car.

We had worked up quite an appetite with all the walking so it was time for a Durango food truck tour. First we stopped and got a chicken and rice noodles bowl. Dad headed to the bike shop to get Remy a new helmet (roz ate his previous one), and Remy played Legos. Once we were finished with our bowl we headed to an even bigger food truck area with a great beer selection and a full bar. Mom got several dishes while Remy and Dad did a quick inspection of the boardgame store around the corner. It passed with flying colors.

Our food was delicious. We had baked potatoes topped with brisket, some Mac and cheese, chicken fingers (always), and Remy got an enormous ice cream bar for dessert. Food trucks really make just about everything better.
When we got home we saw Roz's twin heading back to the dog park so we joined them to get the dogs as absolutely worn out as possible. We've got a hectic schedule this week with lots of work for Mom and Dad so the dogs are stacking all of their exercise today.
