We had to get an early start to the day in order to get off island for our flight. Mom got up at 3am (internal clock woke her up), and Dad and Remy were up a bit before 5. We had done lots of prep during the week (Mom gets all the credit here) so there wasn't much left to do. Never the less we missed the 530 ferry by about 30 seconds and had to wait for the 6 am boat. The roads were mostly clear and we made it to the airport right on schedule. Check in was smooth and we grabbed a bit of breakfast on the way to the gate.
The flight was uneventful although about 2/3 of the way through it became very clear that Remy was running on fumes. He powered through through and we landed in a very humid Cabo feeling groggy, sweaty, and glad to be off the airplane.
We hopped into our rental car (acquired unusually quickly) and headed to Todos Santos. The drive was breezy, with only a few other cars going during the hour-ish drive, and we pulled in with plenty of daylight left to get acquainted with our air BNB. Our host showed us around (she lives upstairs) and we took in the incredible view of the lagoon and the ocean from the rooftop. We also got to meet our door guard, a very unshakeable hummingbird. She seriously doesn't move.
After a very fast dinner in town (hummingbird-esque perhaps) we headed to bed early to recharge our tiniest human's batteries. Okay, the big humans needed recharging too.
Remy woke up not feeling well so we played it safe and Dad drove into town to get coffee and breakfast from our most favorite Todos Santos spot, Docecuarenta. We had breakfast on our patio and spent most of the morning playing Legos, reading books, and lounging. Remy was feeling better by mid afternoon so we took a dip in the pool and then headed to the beach for the sunset.
We parked near the Las Tunas neighborhood, right next to where we stayed two years ago when we wintered here. The walk to the beach was just as we remembered, but we didn't see our faithful canine companion Tigre.
On the beach we watched a few whales splashing and also built some sand huts that Remy used his truck to promptly run over.
Post beach we stopped in at 5 Tacos and a Beer. They still had tacos, but we don't know for sure if they still had beer because we had margaritas. The tacos were great, the fried cheese was great, and Remy's hotdog was excellent. Tigre even made a surprise appearance at the end! To our astonishment he seemed to have doubled in size. We guessed that he must have been just a pup when we last saw him. it was a rough goodbye but hopefully we will get to see him once more before we leave.
