Children of Dune pt. 7

Drat! Rain! We had to break camp in the rain, which is just about the worst thing a person can go through (maybe top 5 worst things).
We also got confirmation that thieves had been working in the campground, as the neighbors had their stove stolen the previous night. We were missing a dog bowl, and it was speculated as stolen, but we didn't have a great way to confirm it until hearing the other reports. Hopefully they really needed a dog bowl.

The drive to bend was uneventful, other than stopping at a very yucky truck stop to empty our black water tank. This process is already gross enough, but performing it at a ill-kept truck stop is definitely the worst thing a person could have to do (maybe top 5).

After we got set up we headed across the road to the day use area for a nice walk along the river. We've done this walk several times on previousl trips, and it is one of our favorites in the area. Today we also got to see some river kayakers going through the rapids. There's something new to see every time.

We had a big dinner at the Bite in Tumalo, a pavilion with a beer bar and several food trucks. Dad had Tamales (and teriyaki chicken), and Mom, Clint, and Kat had sushi. After dinner the boys played trucks in the gravel at our camp site. It was a little chilly but otherwise a beautiful day.
