We started our day of with a trip to the Seascape diner. Dad ordered the largest breakfast possible and was thoroughly stuffed. Post breakfast we headed up the Trinidad Head trail, which took us to the top of a large rock jutting out into the water. The trail forked off into several viewpoints and cool looking little nooks hidden in the trees. Remy and Elisabet did their best to explore all of them. After we completed our hike we spent an hour or two on the beach so that the dogs could run around and Elisabet and Remy could continue their sand castle building. It was a beautiful sunny day, but not so warm that anyone was uncomfortable.
We had originally scheduled a drive to the Redwoods for the afternoon, but after consider the previous day's busy schedule and the drive time to get there, we opted to spend the afternoon at the campground. The kids resumed their playground activities while the parents played boardgames and prepped an early dinner. Today there were several more children that joined in, and at the end of the day none of them wanted to come back inside.
We cooked a lovely steak and toretilli dinner, and then finished the day off with a campfire and s'mores. Elisabet is a master s'mores maker, and her double marshmallow concoctions put Dad's miniscule s'more to shame.
