We've settled into an excellent routine now. Get up, walk to town for coffees, walk back, breakfast, walk to beach, build Sandcastles/swim, eat lunch, nap, walk on beach or walk in town.
This gets us out and about in the hotter areas (town) during the cooler parts of the day, and has us in the cooler areas, near the beach and under our big palapa, during the cooler part of the day.
During today's beach trip we focused on castle and tower building, with Dad offering up several different castles to the inevitable monsoon that always seemed to come pouring out of a bucket right when construction was almost completed. Remy and Elisabet love destroying sand structures.
At nap time we broke from our schedule ever so slightly and the dads ventured to the store for milk, cheese, crackers, and some delicious rotisserie chicken from a restaurant in town. We returned just in time for a quick round of cards before wakeups.
After naptime the kiddos wanted to make use of the pool and we were happy to oblige. Once pool play was completed we walked along the beach for a while until we discovered a hidden cove (note: it wasn't actually hidden, just farther than we had walked previously). On our return journey we stopped at an adults only beach bar for a drink. We left the kids out in the surf so as not to break the rules (they said our kids were so cute they'd make an exception, and it also wasn't busy).
We finally ended up back at the taco restaurant just around the corner from our house. We got some excellent tacos, tortas, pita wraps, and pizza. Remy was strongly against the taco options but the taco restaurant shares a building with a pizza restaurant. It is quite convenient when folks cannot agree.
