Back to work! Dad was busy clacking away at his keyboard this week but that didn't stop Remy from getting out to take in all of the sights around Boulder and Longmont.
On Monday Remy and Mom went to the pool for some water playtime, swim practice, and much needed showers. Afterwards we went to the Oskar Blues taproom to try some great Colorado beer (that they sell in every grocery store in Washington). Post brewery we took the dogs for a long walk at the park. There are a lot of parks in Longmont, so we just went to the one closest to the brewery.
On Tuesday Mom and Remy headed into the big city after Mom's morning meetings. Their first stop was at the Denver museum, and then it was off to Meow Wolf. This is Remy's second Meow Wolf experience. When they returned we decided to stay at the campsite for dinner as Dad had some work to finish. Mom ran into town to grab a delicipus selection of Peruvian dishes with lots of plantains, rice, and seasoned meats. We also had some kind of deep friend cheescake for dessert. It was yummy. After dinner took the dogs for a walk around the reservoir just down the road. We also discovered that they have an off leash dog beach so everyone got to get their wiggles out.
On Wednesday Remy and Mom headed to the carnivore rescue where they have lots of big predators like tigers and wolves. After the adventure we went to collision brewing for a very tasty dinner. Remy had the kids steak (we didn't know they had kid's menus with steak), mom had a stuffed pita and watermelon salad, and Dad had a PBandJ burger but instead of buns it had deep fried uncrustables. Dad was very full afterwards. Remy said the steak was excellent, and Mom raved about the mixed drinks. All in all a great dinner spot.
Thursday Mom and Remy went to the model railroad museum. After work we headed back to the pool for more swimming and showers before we left Longmont. Dad tried out the water slide and we all enjoyed the lazy river section of the pool. It has a small current going in a circle so you can either float along or work really hard to swim against it. We played some tag games that Remy invented and then hit the road. On the way home we stopped at Quarters tap room and arcade as a special treat. No idea who the treat was for. This was Remy's first trip to an arcade after being very interested on the games on the Vancouver Island ferry. This particular spot has three things going for it. One, lots of old games in great shape. Most were 25 cents. Two, little wrist bands that you could use instead of quarters. Just tap the wristband on the game and away you go. Three, and the most dangerous, was that the bar was self serve. You tapped your wristband on the beer you wanted, and then poured as much as you wanted. At the end of the night you pay for what you poured and what you played. Genius!
